A Comission for my darling =kammeblah, Love you dear, thanks for the points. I'm not too good with backgrounds, but I gave it all I had! Neither an I good at shading like this, I usually do it, uh, differently, ahaha. This style was a lot harder.
Programs: Paint Tool SAI
P.S. Sorry its so small! I had to make it small to shade 'cause I wasn't used to it. orz.
I actually really like the background. The deep blue with slight lighter patches is really great, especially with the brown tones in both the tree and the character.I love how dark everything is, especially in her face. And if you struggled with the shading, it doesn't show. You've done the light source really and it reflects on the character very well. I think that the light glimmer on the eyes would be on the other side though. The only other critique I have is that while I think your shading is consistent throughout most of the piece, the breasts are a little bit off. It's the only place where you rely on lines, not shading, to give a form.
Gee, thanks so much for the critique! I really appreciate you taking the time to look at this and write to me. I will make sure to do better on my next picture
I like the mood of this, and you did a good job with the lighting and highlights. There's not much for me to suggest for improvement, save perhaps that the tree looks a little simplistic and the notch in her shirt with her cleavage would get hit with that much light. Those are both nitpicky, though, it's a great piece overall.
I dissagree. Your backgrounds are amazing! I'm JUST learning how to make better backgrounds myself. And the eyes really caught my attention on this peice. I love the way you added the shine on them <3
THAT OH JESUS JUST What have I done to deserve this magnifique piece? I cannot tell you enough how much I love the tree and the laterns- THE SHADING AROUND IT, THE GLOW. This atmosphere is really something else. I love, and I mean truly the nature backgrounds you do. They're just something else. The girl and the colouring. What more can I say? When speaking about the anatomy, I'm most impressed by the relation of the armpit and the shirt. It's something I wouldn't have thought to draw. The other is the shading of the left hand. You bring out the muscles and the mold of the hand so well. You know what's the funny thing? That triangle on her face. Few months ago, I was sketching and designing characters and when I was doing a rendition of myself, I drew a triangle on the characters face.
